cipolla [tʃiˈpolla]

noun

1. Italian for "onion."

2. A writer with something to say about how we live in America now.

Wes Cipolla is a writer and photographer based in Reading, Pennsylvania. His work focuses on society and culture in local communities, and the people who make them such vibrant places to live in. His favorite subjects include history, the arts and culture, Generation Z and anything that is quirky or offbeat. Cipolla's vivid, perceptive and character-driven writing has taken him from the bucolic lowlands of Pennsylvania Dutch Country to the mountainous northeastern Coal Region. He has worked in journalism since the age of 14, interviewing scandal-plagued politicians, beauty queens, Bigfoot hunters, alpaca farmers, burlesque dancers, Santa Clauses and social activists. Cipolla's work can be found in the Reading Eagle, the Pottsville Republican-Herald, the Ephrata Review and the Morning Call. He is the Editor in Chief of his college newspaper, the Albrightian.

Besides journalism, Cipolla is interested in film, the arts, popular culture and travel.
